THE LANGHAM, LONDON UNVEILS A NEW RUM AND CIGAR AL FRESCO SUMMER BAR WITH PRIZE WINNING FLIGHTS TO CUBA.

Following a successful debut in 2010, The Langham, London’s Terrace Garden adopts a tropical flavour as this year’s fashionable pop-up al fresco bar, captivating the spirit of Cuba with its exclusive Rum and Cigar offerings. Guests will also be invited to enter a prize draw to win two round-trip tickets to Havana.

The Langham, London draws on its rum expertise as its chic and glamorous Artesian bar, the social hub of the West End, features London’s largest selection of rum. The rum list at The Terrace Bar will feature a selection of the most popular rums from Artesian including its two own label rums that have been especially imported in barrels from Guyana and Panama, left to mature and then exclusively bottled. Also featured will be a number of rarer and more usual vintage rums sourced exclusively for The Terrace Garden, including Havana Club Maximo Extra Anejo, Mount Gay Tri-Centenary Anniversary Selection and Clement- Vintage 1952.

For the cigar aficionado, a handed picked list of selected cigars from Hunters & Frankau will also be available with a bespoke Cigar and Rum pairing menu, allowing guests to make the perfect match by recommending the rum best suited to their choice of cigar. Guests can also fully embrace the Cuban culture by enjoying a game of dominoes, with domino sets being provided.

The Terrace Garden offers a rare outdoor venue for summer drinkers, just minutes from the luxury stores on Regent Street and Bond Street. It’s a perfect rendezvous at the end of a day of retail therapy or to meet friends after work.

Raised beds and planters are filled with box hedges, topiary bay trees and seasonal summer flowers, giving the feel of an English courtyard garden. Banquette seating with oversized cushions and occasional rattan-styled furniture are sited to afford intimate private seating areas to relax and socialise. Stepping back into the hotel, a dedicated lounge and bar allows guests to watch the summer sporting events on a large flat screen plasma television.

This seasonal bar will open on Monday 23 May 2011, for the start of Chelsea Flower Show week, and run through to August. Open daily from 4.00pm to 11.00pm, Monday- Saturday inclusive, The Terrace Garden will also feature favourite summer beverages including Pimms cup, a selection of Champagnes from Laurent-Perrier, available by the glass or the bottle, as well as a full range of premium spirits and wines by the glass. As an accompaniment, themed sharing food platters including Sushi or Arabic meze may be ordered.
