London, Monday 14 November 2005: The Langham Hotel, London, has been voted England’s Leading Business Hotel in the World Travel Awards 2005 held last night at the Royal Opera House in London.
Graham Cooke, Founder and President of the World Travel Awards said:
“Langham Hotel, London beat off nine other business hotels including the Hilton Park Lane and the Mandarin Oriental to be voted “ England’s Leading Business Hotel. Our independent worldwide survey shows that Langham is the first property the tourism industry considers when it thinks of a leading business hotel in England.”
"All our award winners are innovators and benchmarks for our trade, and Langham Hotel is certainly one of these benchmark properties that business travelers to the capital and England talk about,” explains Cooke.
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to celebrate the achievements of all sectors of the global travel industry. It has become the world’s most comprehensive annual travel awards ceremony, and voting is cast by travel agents from 80,000 travel agencies in over 200 countries around the world.
This award is the culmination of a year filled with accolades for Langham Hotel, London including:
- November: England’s Leading Business Hotel – World Travel Awards 2005
- November: Sleep05 Design Awards: The Infinity Suite is a finalist
- October: The Dom Perignon Award for Excellence – given to Managing Director, Duncan Palmer, by the Academy of Food & Wine Service
- October: Lastminute.com awards the Langham ‘Best Theatre Break Hotel’
- October: Condé Nast Traveller places Langham in their Top Ten business hotels in London
- September: The hotel is given 5 Red Stars by the Automobile Association
- February: Hotel of the Year – awarded by ‘UKInbound’ (formerly the British Incoming Tour Operators Association)
