2009 sees The Langham unveiling an extensive programme of restoration that has taken 5 years to complete and costing a remarkable £80 million. Focused on re-capturing the original personality of The Langham, bringing it back to the status of its grand past and maintaining the quintessential English feel and level of sophistication of its early days.

On the 17th July 1863 the foundation stone of The Langham, London was laid and from the outset many thought the proposed Langham was too ambitious to be a success. However on Saturday 10th June 1865 The Langham, London enjoyed its grand opening, enchanting the Prince of Wales and Victorian high society, launching a new era in British hotel keeping.
