The Langham Hotel London – A Five-Star Luxury London Hotel

The prestigious Langham Hotel opened in 1865 as England, and Europe’s first Grand Hotel. As a renowned London hotel with a distinctive charm and character, it has hosted royalty, foreign dignitaries and celebrities in luxury for over 140 years. A Victorian landmark with an exceptionally rich heritage, The Langham, London was restored and expanded in the 1990's, with much of the original interior still intact. In 2004, it became the flagship property of Langham Hotels International, and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

An elegantly restored landmark in London’s West End, The Langham, London lies in the heart of London’s shopping and theatre districts. Located just off Regent Street, the hotel is an ideal base from which to explore all the tourist attractions and the financial areas of the city.

The first phase of the multi-million pound refurbishment was completed in 2007 which has seen the opening of Artesian, the new chic and glamorous bar and a new restaurant The Landau.

Designed by David Collins Studio, The Landau is set to become one of the principle new dining destinations in London. Head chef, Andrew Turner, has created a contemporary European menu with the best British ingredients and a few surprising twists. It’s open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and private dining.

The next phase of the refurbishment has commenced as the hotel progresses in its vision to become one of the top grand hotels of London, a position the hotel enjoyed when it first opened in 1865. This sees the closure of the hotel lobby, Palm Court, the Ballroom, all private function rooms, plus around 260 guest rooms. These will re-open after a total transformation in early 2009. 

For extra comfort, The Langham Hotel Club provides guests with superior accommodations, private check-in, complimentary pressing of one item upon check-in and two exclusive Club Lounges serving complimentary breakfast, snacks and drinks throughout the day and unlimited cocktails and canapés in the evening. There is also a boardroom, which guests can use for meetings while staying at the hotel and check-out time is extended to 3pm.

Artesian and The Landau will remain fully operational, as will the Health and Fitness Club, featuring a swimming pool, steam rooms, sauna and state-of-the-art gym and a full service will be offered in all the remaining rooms. In addition, further sums are being invested to make some noticeable upgrades to the remaining rooms, including a redecoration and the installation of flat screen televisions.

Construction impact should be minimized as the majority of the remaining rooms are sited away from the construction zone, or in the case of the Club Rooms, in a separate building.
