Kara Tointon returns to the stage in London

Theatre lovers thinking about heading to the capital could be swayed by the opportunity to see Kara Tointon's return to the stage.

She appears in Absent Friends, which is being hosted by the Harold Pinter Theatre and the event could be a wonderful excursion for those people planning on staying in a hotel near Oxford Street.

The former Eastenders actress, who has since won the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing television programme, will star alongside the League of Gentlemen's Reece Shearsmith in this new black comedy.

Jeremy Herrin will direct the play, which deals with the issues of jealously, infidelity and loathing.

Theatre lovers on a London weekend break may want to follow the performance with a fine meal at Roux at The Landau or a spot of afternoon tea served in Palm Court.

They can then book in for a good night's sleep at a luxury five star hotel such as The Langham.
