Experience Verdi in London

London weekend break

Music lovers heading to the capital next month could take the opportunity to experience some of the works of one of the classical masters.

Verdi's Aida will be performed at the Royal Opera House and it could be a perfect highlight for those people enjoying a London weekend break.

The opera tells the tale of a tragic love story, the titular character is an Ethiopian slave girl who finds herself caught up in a love triangle involving the king's daughter and the captain of the guard.

This production is the latest collaboration between the historic venue and Raymond Gubbay following from their hit Madame Butterfly shows, which the Sunday Telegraph said was "the envy of any opera house anywhere".

Fans on a London weekend break may want to follow the show with a well-earned drink in some cocktail bars in London.

They can then retire to one of the Oxford Street hotels such as The Langham.
