Ben Barnes to star in stage adaptation of Birdsong

After an evening spent in a top London restaurant, it may be worth catching the stage production of this novel, which is set during World War One.

Ben Barnes, who has starred in Prince Caspian and Dorian Gray, will be portraying the main character - Stephen Wraysford, reports Visit London.

This is the world premiere of the stage production, which has been adapted from the novel by Rachel Wagstaff.

Birdsong is a bestselling novel, which came 13th in a 2003 BBC survey called the Big Read.

It is the fourth tome written by British author Faulks. It tells the story of Wraysford before, during and after the Great War.

Before the war he is living in France where he has an affair with a married woman and fathers a child unbeknown to him.
