Art lovers and budding photographers will have a few more weeks to see the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2012 at the National Portrait Gallery.

This prestigious exhibition is on display at the famous old venue until 17th February and a trip to see it could make for the perfect highlight to a London weekend break.

It is one of the most inclusive art exhibitions to be held in the capital, as it invites entrants of all backgrounds to submit their best work.

This year, 2,350 photographers entered more than 5,300 works and the panel of judges have now selected the best 60 portraits to appear in the exhibition, with the winning photo deemed to be Jordi Ruiz Cirera's Margarita Teichroeb.

Visitors to the capital who are hoping to see the prize winners and exhibits before they go could really treat themselves by booking rooms in a five star hotel.
