Youngsters can find out what it's like to be a butterfly at Sensational Butterflies

London family hotel

Event: Sensational Butterflies
Date: Until September 11th
Venue: The Natural History Museum

Youngsters can find out more about the lives of Sensational Butterflies at the Natural History Museum this spring and summer.

Those staying at a London family hotel can head to South Kensington and enjoy a fun-filled but educational day out.

Families can also enter the outdoor butterfly house on the front lawn of the museum, which is home to over 100 species of the winged insect.

There are also five sensory zones relating to sight, smell, taste, hearing and touch so people can find out more about being a butterfly.

Children are able to take part in fun interactive games and colourful information panels in the butterfly house, while insects flutter past.

There is also an outdoor garden where people can find out how to attract and look after butterflies at home.

Tickets cost £3.50 each while those on a London family vacation can buy a family pass for £12.

Butterflies have large, often brightly coloured wings and they have a distinctive fluttering flight. They are part of the same family as the moth.

Families can retire to their London family suite at the five star Langham after enjoying Sensational Butterflies.
