See photographs of dolls from across the ages at Doll Face
London weekend getaway
Event: Doll Face
Date: September 3rd to January 2nd
Venue: Victoria and Albert Childhood Museum
Visitors to the capital may like to attend the latest exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Childhood Museum - Doll Face - to find out more about the history of the toy.
Those on a London weekend getaway may like to take the children along to the museum to show them some of the photographs that are being displayed.
Photographer Craig Dean has taken images of some of the 8,000 dolls at the museum, which houses objects relating to childhood dating back as far as 1600.
Inquisitive people will be able to see how the doll has evolved throughout history and the changing representations that humans make of themselves.
Mr Dean said: "As a portrait and still-life photographer I am interested in the representation of the human form; mankind's desire to make images and objects in its own likeness is as old as the hills."
Families on a London weekend getaway can also see the collections of teddy bears, puppets, games and doll houses that are on display at the museum.
After a day perusing the new exhibition Doll Face, families can retire in comfort to the five star London Langham hotel.
