Ping! is a new initiative that will see 100 ping pong tablesbeing erected across the city. They can be found at landmarks,shopping centres such as Westfield and even train stations.
Therefore, people on a London family vacation, may have theopportunity to play table tennis for free as they gosightseeing.
If people are visiting the Tate Britain as part of a London family vacation, they could indulgein a free game as a table will be set up at the gallery.
It is being organised by Sing London in conjunction with theNational Lottery, Sport England's Innovation Fund and the EnglishTable Tennis Association (ETTA).
A series of masterclasses, competitions and free-to-joinactivities will also be held as the organisers want to encouragemore people to play sport by 2012.
Richard Yule, chief executive of ETTA, told Event Magazine: "Itis fantastic for table tennis to be at the forefront of furthercutting-edge interventions to increase sustainable massparticipation."
Sing London was established in 2006. It is a non-profitorganisation which aims to bring those in the capital togetherthrough song.
