See Royal Manuscripts at the British Library

Event: Royal Manuscripts: The Genius of Illumination
Dates: To March 13th
Venue: British Library

Art lovers and history buffs heading to the capital in the next few months could take the opportunity to see some treasured national artefacts by venturing to the British Museum.

Royal Manuscripts: The Genius of Illumination will be on display, showcasing some of the UK royal family's 700-year-old collection of artwork and it could be a perfect highlight for those people enjoying a London weekend break.

Running alongside the display is a programme of scholarly and informative talks, where highlights include Andrew Marr's analysis of the changing role of the Monarchy.

Marr is well qualified to discuss the subject, having chronicled the changes in his book, The History of Modern Britain.

Those couples and families on a London weekend break may want to follow the exhibition with a well-earned drink in some cocktail bars in London.

They can then retire to the palatial luxury of a five star hotel such as The Langham.
