Anyone thinking that flowers are the perfect Valentine's Day gift may want to book a romantic trip to London to make the occasion even more special.

On February 14th couples could wake up in a luxury London hotel and then set out for the horticultural paradise of Kew Gardens.

The world-famous attraction is hosting a month-long celebration of tropical gardens – giving lovers the chance to see more exotic blooms than mere roses or daffodils.

Kew is home to one of the planet's largest collections of orchids and the site is offering tourists the chance to have comprehensive access to its nurseries, which are normally closed to the public.

Alternatively, people may want to head to the Temperate House to see the world's tallest indoor plant.

After spending a day in the fragrant surroundings of Kew Gardens, couples could enjoy each other's company by finishing off the day with a meal at a romantic restaurant in London.
