It is hoped that at least 800 top London restaurants will be taking part in the event, which is designed to showcase the eating out culture in the city.

Each venue, which ranges from Michelin-starred restaurants to local bistros, will be providing guests with a special menu for the festival.

These menus have been created to showcase the establishment's unique cooking style.

Food lovers could also get involved in some of the events that will be taking place as part of the festival.

These include Gourmet Odyssey, where consumers visit three top London restaurants in one lunchtime and meet chefs and fellow foodies.

Food lovers can also participate in the Big Debate and argue with or against Janet Street Porter about French cuisine being a spent force.

This year's event is being held to raise money for StreetSmart, which obtains funds for homeless charities in various cities across the country.
