February the last chance to see acclaimed photo exhibition
Luxury London hotel
Event: Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2011
Date: to February 12th 2012
Venue: National Portrait Gallery
Art fans heading to the capital to see the actors and celebrities at this year's Baftas could take the opportunity to view a unique exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery while they are in the vicinity.
The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition will only be open until February 12th and it could be the perfect highlight for those people enjoying a London weekend break.
Pictures from recognised professionals sit alongside the best examples of amateur photography, in what is sure to be a feast for the eyes.
The inclusive nature of the entry rules for the competition means it attracted more than 6,000 photos. The winning shot was judged to be Jooney Woodward's Harriet and Gentleman Jack.
Ms Woodward attributed her success to her choice of materials, saying: "I prefer the quality and depth you get from using film; unfortunately it's a dying art."
Photography lovers or film buffs in and around the capital may want to follow the exhibition with some fine dining at Roux at The Landau.
They can then retire to a luxury London hotel such as The Langham.
