Fashion-lovers taking a London weekend break over the next couple of months will be able to enjoy a new Vivienne Westwood exhibition.

Credited with being the most-extensive collection of the designer's striking footwear to date, the new show, which is being held in Selfridges, will boast over 200 pairs.

These range from super-glam heels from the early 70s to newer designs, including the Super Elevated Gillie, which has the distinction of causing Naomi Campbell to take a tumble on the catwalk.

Vivienne Westwood Shoes: An Exhibition - 1973-2010 will run from August 26th until September 22nd at the Ultralounge in the world-famous Oxford Street department store.

The designer came to global fame at the forefront of the punk movement, which was centred in London in the late 1970s.

Jut recently, London was named as one of the world's top-five most-fashionable cities, alongside the likes of Paris and Los Angeles, on the back of a study carried out by the non-profit group Global Language Monitor.
