five star hotel
Event: Battle of Britain Anniversary
Date: August 17th to 31st.
Venue: Churchill War Rooms
Visitors to the capital who want to experience a slice of culture or learn more about the second world war could attend the Battle of Britain Anniversary.
It is 70 years since Winston Churchill made his famous speech, which referred to the Battle of Britain that would be fought in the skies and those staying in a five star hotel could help commemorate it.
On August 20th, a reading of Churchill's famous speech will be made at 3.52pm, the same time he made it in 1940, which will be accompanied by a flyover of a spitfire and hurricane.
Those staying in a five star hotel may like to remember those that fought for the country by attending a seven course dinner inspired by the wartime leader.
Kevin Gaffney, head chef for the meal, told Event Magazine: "Churchill was passionate about food and, despite there being a war on, he insisted on having three course meals as often as possible."
Mr Gaffney added that Churchill liked a combination of British and French cuisine.
After an evening indulging in a seven course meal visitors can retire in style to the five star Langham hotel, London.
