Jimi Hendrix's London home to be opened to visitors
Event: Jimi Hendrix house opening
Date: September 15th to September 26th 2010
Guests staying in luxury hotels in London this September could make the most of their stay in the capital with a visit to the former residence of the inimitable guitar hero Jimi Hendrix.
Handel House Museum in Mayfair will be open from September 15th and 26th, marking four decades since the death of the music legend.
The house, which was also the residence of the famed German-English composer after which it is named for 36 years, was rented by Hendrix for just £30 a week as he rose to global fame while living in the city.
As well getting to see the inside of the home where two music stars lived, visitors will have the chance to enjoy an exhibition of Hendrix memorabilia, including clothing and handwritten lyrics.
Aside from the upcoming rock-themed exhibition, luxury London hotel guests are able to take a classic-themed tour of the Handel House Museum all year-round.
The only London museum dedicated to a composer, the house is where Handel penned the likes of Zadok the Priest and Music for the Royal Fireworks.
