Francis Alys exhibition likely to be a hit with art-loving luxury London hotel guests

Event: Francis Alys exhibition
Date: June 15th to September 5th, 2010

The upcoming Francis Alys exhibition is likely to be a major hit with art-lovers taking London weekend breaks over the summer.

The latest big-name show at the Tate Modern will see a number of the Belgian artist's most-celebrated pieces go on display, some for the first time in the capital.

As well as paintings, the show, which runs from June 15th until September 5th, will include videos, drawings and postcards produced by the Mexico-based artist over the past three decades.

According to the popular South Bank museum, Alys's work explores subjects "such as modernisation programmes in Latin America and border zones in areas of conflict", with the artist asking people to find poetry in politicised situations.

At the same time, the Tate Modern is also gearing up for its blockbuster Gauguin exhibition.

Demand for luxury hotel rooms and tickets to see the biggest collection of the French artist's work to be shown in the UK for 50 years is likely to be fierce between September and January 2011.
