Families can visit free south London carnival in June

Families will have no shortage of outdoor events to enjoy in London this summer.

One of the highlights of the capital's summer events calendar is the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Carnival, which is taking place on June 12th from 12:00 BST and 18:00.

This year's carnival will be graced with the presence of X-Factor finalist Stacey Solomon while Andy Abraham, another finalist from the hit TV show, will also be entertaining the crowds.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnics to the event and take advantage of the live music, learn something new in the Home Front exhibition or try their hand at ballroom dancing.

Carnival organisers will also be putting on a 'rumble in the jumble' sale, beer tents and food halls featuring cuisine from all over the world.

In July, Southwark will be celebrating the T-Mobile Big Dance 2010 event by hosting a range of dance events in places you wouldn't normally expect to find them, such as bus stops, football clubs and art galleries.
