Carnaval del Pueblo, Europe's largest free Latin American fiesta, is just a little over a month away.

The carnival represents a fantastic opportunity for people to inject a little colour into their London weekend getaway.

Not only that, it is also a chance to experience some South American culture without the time and expense of flying to the continent itself.

The parade will begin at London's City Hall at midday on August 1st, with the route running from Elephant Road to Burgess Park, via Walworth Road, Camberwell Road and Albany Road.

Having followed the procession to the park, people can enjoy music from a number of bands from across the world, with the fun set to go on into the night.

Also taking place will be the Open Salsa Dance Championship, with workshops available for children and a selection of bars for the adults.
