Event: The Royal wedding
Date: April 29th 2011
Venue: Westminster Abbey
The date was set for the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton yesterday (November 23rd) and it will take place on April 29th.
As a result this day will be a public holiday and observers from around the globe will be able to see the event taking place in the wedding venue on TV.
It could also provide a good opportunity for a weekend break in London as the following Monday is May Day, meaning workers will get four days off.
Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the prince's private secretary, explained that the couple had chosen the wedding venue for its "staggering beauty".
He said: "I have never seen two happier people. They're on cloud nine, like any other newly engaged couple."
It is thought the Prince, who is second in line to the throne, wants to invite children, volunteers and the homeless to the wedding to make it one for the people.
A number of street parties will also be held and a concert with some of Britain's top pop stars will also be occurring.
Therefore, those who wish to feel the atmosphere surrounding the city on this day, take part in the celebrations or take advantage of the long weekend can stay in the 5 star hotel, the Langham London to feel like royalty themselves.
The hotel near Oxford Street is offering a special package for the Royal wedding weekend, with a daily breakfast, free wireless in the room and a celebratory Tea Royale for two in Palm Court. Easter Delight costs £345 excluding VAT.......

Event: Sister Act Dates: October 22nd to 25th Venue: London Palladium
Musical fans still have the chance to watch actress Whoopi Goldberg play Mother Superior in Sister Act the Musical.
On September 8th, it was announced that the star will be returning for five performances, after she had to cut short her previous run in the show due to her mother suffering a stroke. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, which gives those lucky enough to obtain one time to plan a day out in London complete with afternoon tea and a musical.
Sister Act tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier who is placed in a convent as part of a witness protection programme after she sees a murder being committed.
When Goldberg appeared in the show in August, fans were willing to pay hundreds of pounds for tickets, reports This is London.
A spokesman for producers Stage Entertainment told the news paper: "We always knew that Whoopi as Mother Superior would give us a boost but what we've seen at the Palladium is totally unprecedented."
After a spot of afternoon tea and watching Goldberg in Sister Act, visitors can end their day in style by staying at the five star Langham hotel, London.
